First established in 1979 by Mike Tibbatts, Tibbatts & Co Ltd is a small specialist surveying practice based in the centre of Wimbledon.

Experience and Expertise

Mike Tibbatts qualified as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) in 1971. His focus is the residential sector. He specialises in leasehold enfranchisement (purchase of freehold) and lease extensions.  Party wall matters are also his specialist area.

Professional Memberships

In addition to being a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) and a registered RICS Valuer, Mike Tibbatts is a Member of the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners (ALEP). He is also an accredited expert witness and holds the Cardiff University/Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificate.

What We Do

We work mainly with flat owners who want to extend their leases or acquire their freeholds. We also work with freeholders.  The cases we present at leasehold valuation tribunals and the Upper Tribunal benefit from our rounded experience of work with both flat owners and freeholders. As experts in party wall matters and procedures we assist home owners seeking to extend their properties, as well as neighbours who might be affected by property alteration and extension proposals. We provide building defect diagnostic advice and can also be called on to present expert witness evidence.
